Racing BMX bikes when he was only 5 years old, he was winning races in the novice class and won his first national race by age 6. Cole was proving early, he had that competitive spirit. He was first introduced to karting watching his cousin race. At 8 years old Cole asked his dad if he could race a kart. When most kids his age were playing with toys or out playing sports, Cole had different interests. His passion was to be behind the wheel of a race car. From the west coast to the east, Cole has gone on to race all across the country. With hard work and dedication devoted to practice and seat time, Cole's accomplishments have been stellar. In just a short time, Cole earned 8 IKF Grand National Titles, 2 WKA Grand National Titles, 8 Regional Championships, California State Championships, and many more impressive wins. In 2004, at 13 years old, Cole advanced to the semifinals of the Red Bull Driver Search in Sebring, Florida earning him the opportunity to represent Red Bull as a junior athlete. Cole continued karting in the Pro class earning Rookie of the Year honors and the SKI Rising Star award. Making his debut at the 2005 Chili Bowl Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Whitt was the youngest competitor to make it all the way to the B main on the feature night. Cole’s progressions lead to more open wheel racing. In 2006 the family partially relocated to race full time on the “bullrings” of Indiana in a full size 410 sprint car. Whitt honed his skills on the competitive dirt and pavement short tracks of Indiana, earning the Hoosier Sprint Car rookie of the year. In 2008, Whitt joined Keith Kunz Motorsports and competed in the United States Auto Club National series in both midget and sprint cars. Cole claimed the USAC National Midget Championship, becoming the youngest USAC champion in the sanctioning body’s 58 year history. In 2009 Cole bounced between local tracks and the United States Auto club racing in over 80 events. Whitt finished 2nd in USAC National Sprints, won two USAC Silver Crown events with a combined 17 victories earning him the USAC “Super License Award” scoring the most points in the national series. 2010 brings on a new learning curve for the driver. Red Bull Racing Team will guide Cole Whitt out of his open-wheel comfort zone and into the world of stock cars, as the 18-year-old development driver will contend for the 2010 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East championship in the No. 84 Red Bull Toyota. Cole is a driver blessed with natural talent and the determination to be a race car driver. He has shown a natural understanding of the mechanics of how a car works and how he can make it better. He continues to learn and excel. Cole loves all aspects of racing and shares that passion with his family who supports him. Cole Whitt is also a big animal lover. Cole supports a local preservation called Lions Tigers & Bears. It is dedicated to the preservation of big cats.
