Wednesday, September 30, 2009 – The 2009 USAC Schedule is winding down in the Midwest and Cole Whitt continues to post consistent solid results. After solidifying a 4th place finish in his Red Bull #1 Toyota USAC National Midget at Columbus, Cole Whitt and Keith Kunz Motorsports geared up and loaded up for Eldora Speedway to compete in the famed USAC National Series “4 Crown Nationals” where all three USAC National series battle for championship points. Whitt was one of the few competitors that would be competing in all three national series.
| Date | Location | Track | Type | Qual. | Heat | Start | Finish | | 10/2 | Lawrenceburg, IN | Lawrenceburg Speedway | 67k Dirt SC | 9th | 2nd

With over 90 cars in the pits the night began with group qualifying. The ½ mile at Eldora Speedway has a reputation of being wide open, fast and up on the fence. It’s definitely a track that attracts the fans yet demands respect of its drivers due to the high speeds and treacherous track conditions. Cole qualified 2nd quick in the midget, starting off the night strong. Once in the feature Cole would start in the 5th position and finished the feature in 7th place.
In the 67k sprint car Cole qualified 10th of the forty-seven cars entered. After a series of heat races and B mains Cole would start the feature in 9th. Once into the feature the track was dry slick and all competitors were running the top fast groove making passing difficult, however Cole was able to keep on pace and maneuver the cushion and post a solid 8th place at the conclusion of the 30 lap feature.
The evening concluded with the USAC Silver Crown series competing in a 50 lap event. Cole qualified a solid 8th place in his 71k Eagle chassis, locking himself into the feature. Once into the feature, Cole drove meticulously and aggressive making several key passes into the top 5 at the half way mark. Driving every lap just inches from the crash wall, Cole was able to post an impressive 4th place finish at the checker flag, just a car length off of 2nd and 3rd.
Cole had this to say, “We had solid finishes tonight in all 3 classes this weekend, we will continue to strive for better results and hopefully gain some more points for the championship. I would like to thank the crew for all their hard work, running three cars in one night is not easy but everyone worked together to make it happen.”
